KF2 Weapon Skin In Game Test Tutorial
Test your skin
- Open Killing Floor 2 editor
- Make sure your weapon skin package is fully loaded by finding your package in the list, right clicking and fully loading package
- Open a map you would like to test your skin in, for example KF-BurningParis (Maps are located here: Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\killingfloor2\KFGame\BrewedPC\Maps)
- Only open map files that start with the prefix "KF"
- Click "Play in Viewport" button (Blue Arrow) or the "Play in Editor Window" button (Green Arrow)
- Open the console by pressing ~ or F3 on the keyboard
- Type enablecheats into the console
- Type one of the following cheats to access the weapon for the skin you are making using one of the cheats below
- "assault" - gives you commando weapons
- "shotty" - gives you support weapons
- "medic" - gives you medic weapons
- "bersker" - gives you berserker weapons
- "firebug" - gives you firebug weapons
- "demo" - gives you demolition weapons
- mousewheel to select your weapon of choice
- open the console again
- you need to pass in the cheat, the material id of your weapon skin (in most cases 0, and the package/asset path. For example if I'm going to load up the init weapon skin for the ar15 this would be the cheat
- setweaponskin 0 WEP_1P_AR15_9mm_MAT.WEP_1P_AR15_MIC
- your weapon in game will update with your skin. You can now run around the level and see how it looks in different lighting conditions and in iron sights, hip and reloading animations.
